It's long been a dream of ours to collaborate with the incredible Wanderlust Paper Co., a fellow paper-lover and producer of beautiful illustration based in Hove, East Sussex. Finally, we are able to introduce a stunning collection of matchboxes that celebrate the very best of Wanderlust Paper Co.'s work and really do make a wonderfully romantic gift. Whether it's the Divine or Handsome portrait matches or the elegant nude long box we're beyond excited about this range.
Charlotte Farmer Elephant
Our love affair with the talented illustrator and screenprinter, Charlotte Farmer, started when we realised that she, like us, has a great love of vintage matchbox labels. Recreating and imagining colourful and clever designs for matchboxes has been at the heart of our collaboration. From her original designs with us, The Two Peacocks (B219) a complete hit, she continues to blow us away with new designs; this leopard lounging on the back of a slightly bemused silver elephant is brilliant!
Mushrooms by Real, Fun, Wow
Real Fun, Wow! is back with more statement designs—this time, Daren Thomas Magee is thinking about food, drawing inspiration from nature and vintage food packaging. This mushroom square matchbox design is earthy and rooted in bold images, we think it is perfect for the growth of Spring but can also be a matchbox that see's you through the Summer and Autumn months.
Staffodshire Figure
Our Charlotte Farmer collection grows once again! We've found an artist who shares our deep love and appreciation for vintage ephemera. Her new Staffordshire Figure-inspired matchbox combines her love of dogs and vintage memorabilia. While Staffordshire figurines were traditionally found on mantelpieces, this charming Staffordshire matchbox brings that same sense of nostalgia to your home, sitting on your mantelpiece as a as a delightful tribute to both vintage style and canine companions.
Charlotte Farmer Tiger
It is a great privilege to add this to the Archivist matchbox collection. Charlotte's "Ticked Off Tiger", in her words, made it into The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition in 2022; a moment that reminded us just how lucky we are to work with such a talented artist. From the Summer Exhibition to our humble square matchbox, the colours and slightly angry tiger (but he's abig softy at heart) in a decorative snuff bottle is just stunning!
